Field: activ mediawork with children and young people, mediapedagogic work

Description: media competence nowdays is considered a very important key qualification. We encourage children to develop those competences by giving them an opportunity to activly work on creating TV and internet. It is important to us, that children get to know different mediums as well alone as connected. Not only do we teach technical und journalistic skills, we also make it possible to associate critically with media und topics, on what they work on with the help of media.

The children und young people are supported and coached by educators and mediatrainers. They teach technical and editorial know-how. However, kids themselves are in charge of editing and design. It is all about the childrens’ contributions and broadcasts, so the projekt is understood as very focused on its autcomes.

Sinse children’s mobility is limited, we come to thrm. In terms of mobile projekt work children are visited at school or other institutions where they spend time. In this way, we have many cooperations.

Ok, it’s complicated:

The Youth4Media network created an international TV team consisting of youngsters from different EU (and not yet EU) countries. It is called NGO TV.

In September, the team was covering the Economic Forum of Young Leaders (Nowy Sacz, PL), a meeting place for young representatives from NGOs, political parties and economic lobby groups coming from 27 European countries.

Panelists as well as participants were asked to present one practical vision for the future of Europe.
